THE DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR DISASTER UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE IS DEC. 31.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available to individuals whose employment or self-employment was lost or interrupted as a direct result of the severe storm and flooding in Chaves County in October.

The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions is accepting applications for DUA from workers and self-employed individuals in Chaves County who have been unable to work due to this disaster. Applications may be filed by calling the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center at 1-877-664-6984, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., until the deadline of Dec. 31, 2024.
